INVITATION TO THE RAFFLES UNDER-14 DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP 2010
The Raffles Debate Academy is pleased to invite your school to participate in the Raffles Under-14 Debate Championship 2010 (“the U14s”). This annual Championship provides Secondary One and Two Debaters an opportunity to demonstrate their talent in competitive debating, hopes to spur them on as they continue to pursue their passion in debating, and encourages healthy discourse in the moral, social, and political issues that confront us.

Wits & Words: Top 4 Teams
The Debating Association (Singapore) together with Gifted Education Branch, MOE and Hwa Chong institution jointly launched Wits & Words 2010, a national primary school debating competition, which saw 33 teams participating this year. Three preliminary rounds were held in Hwa Chong Institution since March, with teams vying for a spot in the semi-finals.
We are now happy to announce that the following top 4 teams (listed in alphabetical order) have made it into the semi-finals to be held on 21 April at Teachers Network, Grange Road:

I would like to congratulate all the teams involved in the championships for their performances in three hard-fought preliminary rounds.
The Grand Finals of the championships will be held on 23 April (Divisions II & III) and 30 April (Division I). All debaters and teachers involved in the championships will be invited to attend the Grand Final for their division. The top 20 speakers in each division (based on preliminary rounds speaker scores) will also be announced at these occasions.
